all those people and organizations he gave shouts outs to before remarking on a crime spree... do they feel like those sponsors of television news shows that buy time right coincidentally right after terrible news has broken? "gee... am I happy the President just pitched my program right before he addresses the nation about a significant tragedy?"

It's even worse than you note, Kevin.

Bush was in the middle of his event when the news of 9/11 reached him.

Obama KNEW ABOUT what happened at Fort Hood BEFORE he took the podium.

Bush was trying not to panic everyone in the room, especially the children, and wrapped up his appearance quickly.

Obama CHOSE to delay talking about the Fort Hood attack so he could get in a "shout out" to his peeps first.

Disgusting.

I am ashamed to admit that as a maths teacher, I know 12 feet = about 4 meters. If it is a 2-meter fence, it is just over 6 feet tall (with which the "blocked" crowd should be able to cope ;o/ )
