Very true. Someone I know who works in the industry says that his eyes are on bigger, more national things to a point of obesession. He also said KFYI has or used to have policies that would require him to resign.
In the end I think this comes down to money and JD's ability to raise it (campaign+defense fund) and make it.

Ryan - trust me when I tell you that KFYI doesn't give a rip whether Hayworth wins or loses elections. He has a core audience that will follow him through thick or thin. KFYI isn't trying to reach the broad audience - just conservatives.

Can you introduce legislation to break up the strangle hold that Apple has on the OS X market? I want the freedom to choose my own hardware and I want to be responsible for my own decisions, even if they fail to run the OS. Why won't Apple recognize my right to build my own system if I have the ability? As it is, the powers of Big Stupidity are using the levers of power to funnel me into the abyss (MS Win) or the void (*nix). Please, remember the poor people who can't afford over-priced hardware. Don't leave us out in the cold dark realm of bad software.

You'll never see JD on the ballot. He needs a LOT of money to pay off his legal bills and has a kush radio job where he can say anything he wants.

If he runs two things happen. He gets crushed and outspent 2-1 by McCain. You can be on the radio losing to Mitchell, not when you've lost to Mitchell and McCain.
2nd- he wins...then gets beat in the general by Rodney Glassman, who would raise more money then JD, and spend equally of his own money. Glassman is a center candidate who wouldn't have a bloody primary and could run a centrist campaign from the start. There's that $ issue. He won't get major attention running against McCain but would be the biggest target for Dem money in the nation running against Hayworth.

I wish we had a better candidate than Hayworth. I don't think he is step forward for the state, despite his apparent conservative bona fides.

I want a candidate that offers me the chance to vote FOR someone, rather than against. Some far, the potential challengers I have heard mentioned could only get my vote because they aren't McCain. Not enough of a selling point to take & hold the seat
