I don't blame the law biding US Citizens for California's decision, its the illegals that are forcing the issue and the voters need to let their representatives know that its just not Arizona that want these borders secure an illegals deported, hell even Massachuse is in favor of Arizona's decision

Perhaps AZ should reciprocate the boycott: This summer when the temps begin to climb in the southwest, Arizonans can crank up the electricity and thus boycott sending their electricity to CA. I'd laugh and laugh. CA can't fall into the Pacific soon enough...but they're trying--Jerry Brown wants to be gov again; that should finish the job.

I am betting 50 to one Roger and those who don't agree with what Arizona has been forced to do are either illegal, have illegal workers, or just plain stupid. The problem with California is that the population is already over run with illegals. They are bankrupt for a reason. The idiots allow the illegals to destroy their economy by abusing their services. I began my boycott of California today... Canceled all training trip, that's a week of hotels, rentals, food / entertainment, and thousands for each class alone X 5... Also canceled a couple thousand in recording gear for my personal use... I can find other brands that are made somewhere sane...
Don't try and tell me it's okay for California's flagship cities to punish everyone in Arizona en masse over a law they clearly don't even understand, but vice-versa is unfair...
California is tanking, even with more relative special support than Bubble-Boy would need in an M.C. Escher drawing...

Excellent work! Deserves an award from Yahoo!
Great job by Exurban Jon! Thanks for sticking by your fellow citizens and not confusing the several millions of Americans in California with a few corrupt politicians in two or three governing bodies.
Speaking about those corrupt politicians, thanks a lot for doing the hard intellectual work and helping discredit them in order to show their supporters how they're on the take. And, to think, Exurban Jon didn't have to do that, he could have just come up with a cute graphic!

Many of us, especially in Northern Califronia, would love to create two states. If we could only separate from Sin Francisco, L.A., and most of the leftist coastal communities, we would have what ammounts to a conservative state, with values not unlike the midwest (and Arizona). There is not a person with whom I've spoken who is not in total support of Arizona. God bless you, Arizona!! Keep leading the charge!!

Re: A message to L.A.
I commend Gov. Brewer for doing what is right despite the firestorm it has ignited from people who have not even read the bill (including our(?) US Attorney General), but listened instead to the left wing fanatics and lame stream media. Texas should approve a similar bill and over-ride any veto from the Governor's office. I have seen what the illegal alien problem has done to my ex-city of Houston, turning it into a 3rd world barrio, thanks to the sanctuary city philosophy of past liberal/progressive mayors, one of whom is running for Governor. We need more brave politicians as Governors as Gov. Brewer and Gov. Christie. States rights are being trampled into the ground, the Constitution is being shredded, and Obie is far along in his seven steps to convert this country to a communist/socialist 'paradise'.

Bunch of pathetic lame-brains in L.A. If they would control their own rampant crime and violence from illegals in California, then maybe they'd have some credibility. Re: A message to L.A.
It isn't L.A. that is the problem. It is the news media and the propaganda they push on the public daily. Now the lawyers are in on it. Aren't they in on everything. It is all about the money and the greed of the attorneys that is taking this country down. Voters are so stupid that they keep putting lawyers in there state and national offices so they can make laws that makes works for both sides of the issue. Nobody seems to understand what happen to your freedom, well the lawyers took it from you. Arizona is doing what should have been done years ago. I went to school in Mexico for 4 years and if I did not have a passport and visa it was to jail, do not pass go, and all your property gone. You could not fly an American flag, I never saw a sign in English, government papers were all in Spainish. Who changed this in America, the lawyers. Wake-up America before it is too late. Arizona is on the right path, California is full of nut cases, most in Hollywood trying to change the way you think with their bull-shit movies that trash this country 24/7.

Re: A message to L.A.
So, we live in Virginia and had plans to visit California next in a week. But now all that has changed. It appears that California just doesn’t get it, this is a serious issue. Their governor makes stupid one liners and thinks it is cute.
Bottom line, we have changed our plans and are now spending our vacation in Arizona. This state took the lead on an issue that has been brewing for years, and we support them. We support them through messages and through money. We will spend every dime of our vacation in Arizona and I urge everyone to do the same. Watch how businesses in California pressure the politicians when they see tourist revenue dry up. I am dead serious, the ONLY effective message is the monetary message.
Take a moment when you buy online and see if the product originates from a California distribution center. You can look elsewhere, on the internet it only takes a minute. Buy other states wines, they are great, you think that won’t send a message?

Re: A message to L.A.
Put your money where your mouth is.
I went online May 12th and read the news story from the AZ Republic about another attack on our states' rights. This time it was LA claiming they were going to boycott our state by canceling 8 million dollars in services until AZ residents (you and me) met their demands and changed our laws. They didn't come to this decision because of something our state was actively engaging in to try and hurt LA. Nor were we trying to hurt California. They did this because our state lawmakers, with overwhelming support from us the taxpaying residents of Arizona, made a law that was meant to deal with the immigration issue that our state and its residents perceive to be a problem and that our federal government is to weak, politically, to deal with.
My family has put their money where their mouth is and have set up a site www.azantiboycott.com.
Please read it - if you support it great and if you don't, fine - it's your right.

Re: A message to L.A.
Actually I think a lot of Californians think AZ might have gone a tad too far.
If AZ 1070 had been limited to immigration checks for those who were placed under arrest, and not merely legally stopped but not detained by the police, you'd find the support would be higher. There are legitimate questions about how this law fits within the US Constitution and the 4th amendment, and that will be the issue that will be taken to court.
The root causes of AZ 1070 are well understood over here in CA, heck we have the same sorts of problems here, but can you go to far? JD Hayworth probably thinks the answer to that question is NO.

Re: A message to L.A.
I can't wait for global warming to make the seas rise in LA and Frisco. Won't affect me at all up in the desert at 2200 feet.

Re: A message to L.A.
See if I got this right. Boycot and cost AZ $90 Million and AZ saves $3 Billion on Medicaid. Really seems like a hard decision doesn't it . Looks like California should pass a law like AZ and save some money at the same rate. I think I'd trade $90 Million for $3 Billion any day.

I am a big fan of buying on Ebay... no longer from California sellers.

Re: A message to L.A.
Just remember all you Ca. haters that our politicians do not always speak for us anymore than your politicians always speak for you. If you use common sense none of this stupid crap would even be posted. We can all be negative and start boycotting eachother but it only creates more problems for both states. We all should put as much effort into the real problem instead of looking for childish excuses to boycott eachother. It's the politicians who are stooping to a new low, why would we all do the same?

Re: A message to L.A.
I have spent the last three weeks in AZ working on my house. I was smiling the whole time with pride for my new state. GO AZ!!! Protect our state.
