Prosecutors say Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, of Glendale, conducted an "honor killing" on his own daughter because he felt she had shamed the family by not following traditional Iraqi or Muslim values.
The elder Almaleki is accused of using his Jeep Grand Cherokee to run down his daughter and another woman in a parking lot outside a state agency's office in Peoria.

Someone, somewhere pointed out how absurd it is to read that he ran her over in his "Jeep Grand Cherokee" for being too westernized. Yes, come here and enjoy our free markets and safe streets, get a job and drive a nice car, and then kill your daughter because she wears eyeliner. When do we get to stop playing to the lie that all cultures are equal?
And where is Gloria Steinem when you need her? Trust me, I care much less about how much I make as compared to my male counterparts when compared to tragedies like this. Feminists have no credibility with me unless they put the subjugation of women in Muslim cultures at the top of their "Things We Don't Like in the World" list.

That was me! It was me! ... sadly, I was just remarking it to my 16-yr-old son in private, though.
As for where G. Steinem is, the answer is pretty plain: she's 'girling out' on this one, along with all the others.
