Sting on Obama: "He's sent from God!"

Between gigs, Sting
performs as an Andrew
Sullivan impersonator.

Of the people I turn to for geopolitical strategy, Sting ranks somewhere between the fat guy from *NSYNC and Tara Reid. Nevertheless, the British singer, bassist and ur-metrosexual recently shared his wisdom on American polity:
Sting isn't a religious man, but he says President Barack Obama might be a divine answer to the world's problems.

"In many ways, he's sent from God," he joked in an interview, "because the world's a mess."

But Sting is serious in his belief that Obama is the best leader to navigate the world's problems. In an interview on Wednesday, the former Police frontman said that he spent some time with Obama and "found him to be very genuine, very present, clearly super-smart, and exactly what we need in the world."
Translation: "Every little thing he does is magic!"

However, Sting is deeply disturbed by the actions of those foolish Americans who disagree.
"It's aggressive and violent and full of fear," he said of the backlash against Obama. "They don't want change, they want things to feel the same because they feel safe there."
Don't Republicans love their children too?

We share the same biology, regardless of ideology...

Oh, you know I was waiting expectantly for a wealthy European artist to tell the unwashed masses in Flyover Country, USA how we should regard our betters/leaders/royalty I'm glad Sting shared his sophisticated and very nuanced insights, its not as if he has held back in that regard for...decades.

What a fool! Does he not recall that there was this document called the Declaration of Independence that told the Brits to "sod off" back in 1776? Maybe if he focused on music instead ol' Sting would be worth listening too...

What does Sting know about American politics? He's just an Englishman in New York.

Or maybe he's the canary in a coal mine when it comes to the U.S.

Either way, Obama has him wrapped around his finger.

Although I am a huge fan of the Police. Sting should take some time to understand what really destroyed the UK... After why did he choose to raise his family outside of the UK? eehhh 'Spiritual Enlightenment'?
