PelosiCare: Immunity for insurers who wrongfully deny care?
Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz.) has discovered a horrible provision in the House health care reform bill that Pelosi released this morning. This proposed rule would give immunity to insurers when they deny recommended care that results in injury or even death to one of their patients.
Shadegg was looking for this provision since he tried to defeat it in committee. Alas, it is still included iin section 514 of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) (p. 140). Here's a video clip of Shadegg explaining this rule earlier this year.
Expect many, many more of these ugly little details to be revealed over the next few days. Even more troubling will be those bad rules which will remain hidden somewhere in the 1,990-page bill.

There's going to be more and more crap revealed as people read through the bill, now that it's posted online. I'm positive that anyone voting for this debacle will be spending their last term in office once everyone finds out how bad this bill really is.
