My two cents (Canadian) on the subject of anominity and blogging...

Ed Whelan from Bench Memos "outed" an anonymous blogger at Obsidian Wings, and a brou-haha erupts.

My opinion (for what it's worth)?

If you think you're truly anonymous on the internet, you're a fool. Your online fingerprints are there for all the world to see, courtesy of Google Cache, the Wayback machine and other such devices. I don't write under my full name here, but with 5 minutes of forensic Googling, you should be able to uncover my real identity as a 34 year-old Korean single mother of co-joined twins.

I assume this visage of a slightly nerdy ("slightly"? - Ed.) middle-aged white guy just to confuse the issue and keep you from figuring out my real identity as the billionaire playboy son of a prominent doctor and his wife who were ruthlessly gunned down right before my very eyes as we left the Majestic Theater after seeing The Mask Of Zorro.

There. That should clear up any confusion as to who I really am.

At least for you all. I'm not that sure myself...
