Hope! Change! Facial mutilation!
"New Politics" at knife-point:
My theory? Maybe the Obama cultists at YesWeCarve.com ran out of pumpkins.
UPDATE: This just in! The attack is McCain's fault! Of course it is.
Hot Air has photos of the victim — who just happens to be a McCain staffer. I'm sure the nightly news will blame a Sarah Palin speech.A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, police said.
Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard tells Channel 4 Action News that the victim was robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday night outside of a Citizens Bank near Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street just before 9 p.m.
Richard said the robber took $60 from the woman, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim’s car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter “B” into her face, Richard said.

That backward "B" makes me a bit suspicious, though it is obvious she went through something. Maybe she decided to add a little extra to the story?
Still, horrible, and destined to get very little coverage (unless it does turn out to be a hoax); were it reversed, it would be front page news (unless it turned out to be a hoax)

Yeah, I'm getting a Morton Downey Jr. vibe offa this. Not saying it couldn't happen, but it doesn't pass the smell test right now.

Not to pile on here, but this pic is on most of the blogs I read. When I look at it more closely, I realize what a nice, nearly perfect "B" it is. If someone was beating the crap out of me, or had just done so, and had a knife to my face, I'd be fighting back a bit.
That "B" looks to have been scratched on a perfectly still cheek.
I'm just sayin'

I too am skeptical. It could be one of those fake "hate crimes" often reported on college campi. Guess we'll have to wait for more evidence to be sure either way.
Nonetheless, I wanted to work in the "Yes We Carve" angle because I'm a cheap blog-whore.
