Boston Globe: Don’t trust our reporting on McCain!
You know the story. Obama attacked McCain for not sending enough e-mails. Then Jonah Goldberg quoted an old Boston Globe story that claimed McCain can’t comfortably use a keyboard due to his POW injuries. So it seemed pretty cut-and-dry that Obama made another huge gaffe, right?
But wait! One newspaper is insinuating that the Globe story was wrong. Is it a competitor? Nope, it’s the Boston Globe itself. After all, electing Obama is far more important than confirming their journalistic integrity:

But wait! One newspaper is insinuating that the Globe story was wrong. Is it a competitor? Nope, it’s the Boston Globe itself. After all, electing Obama is far more important than confirming their journalistic integrity:
The National Review Online and other Republican-leaning websites said the charge was unfair, citing several articles, including stories several years ago in the Boston Globe and Slate.com, that indicated injuries McCain sustained when he was a prisoner of war in Vietnam prevent him from using a keyboard…We’ve received the message loud and clear, Globe. Your readers should never trust anything they find in your newspaper.
McCain, who has referred to himself as a computer "illiterate," has never cited his war injuries as the reason why he doesn't use e-mail or never learned other computer skills.
For example, when asked by Politico.com earlier this year what type of computer he uses, McCain responded: "I am an illiterate that has to rely on my wife for all the assistance that I can get." In other interviews, he has said he never saw the need to use e-mail because of his staff support.
Earlier, in a March 2006 interview with Fortune magazine, McCain said his work style didn't require computer usage. But he did not cite his injuries.

Perhaps in the Boston Globes zeal to redact their own story by claiming that McCain had "NEVER cited his war injuries as the reason why he doesn't use e-mail," they somehow lost the ability to use Google and discover this from Forbes">http://www.forbes.com/asap/2000/0529/053_print.html">Forbes:
"McCain is an inveterate devotee of email. His nightly ritual is to read his email together with his wife, Cindy. The injuries he incurred as a Vietnam POW make it painful for McCain to type. Instead, he dictates responses that his wife types on a laptop. "She's a whiz on the keyboard, and I'm so laborious," McCain admits."

Great update,
if those were Obama's self deprecating words (as opposed to McCain's): "Internet? shucks, I get lost at "any key." the Globe would be fawning over his "modest and wonderful attitude in an area he's obviously quite comfortable and competent in, but doesn't want to appear show offy."

At the end of the day, the press has taken complete leave of any semblance of journalistic ethics in advancing the election of Barack Obama. Take a look at their code of ethics. I could think of violations perpetrated by the MSM covering nearly each one!
