Obama/Sibelius 2008?
Bill Kristol has heard some very interesting rumors about Obama's vice presidential pick. According to his unnamed sources, he's considering Biden, Kaine or Sibelius. WOW.
Look. I know I've been very tough on Sen. Obama and I'm no great fan of Biden or Kaine. But if he chooses the great Finnish composer, not only will he have my vote — I will proudly donate and volunteer for his campaign.
Check it out — I've even created a new campaign poster for this dream team:

And they even LOOK great together! How many years have we Finnish-Americans awaited our place on the national stage? Finally, our dream might finally come true! Finnish mothers can at long last tell their children that they too might be president one day. OBAMA-SIBELIUS ALL THE WAY!!!
Huh — what's that? Gov. Kathleen Sebelius?
Aw, crap.
::sigh:: Looks like it's you and me again, Maverick. Any chance you could team up with Eero Saarinen?

Somewhere in the dark recesses of my brain, I KNEW you were going to explore this Emily Litella-ism. Maybe it has to do with the fact that every time I hear Finlandia it always calls you to mind. LMAO

It's a lot easier to support "Mavrick," as you so lovingly call him, when you aren't of Selective Service age. Trust me at 27, already having done 4 years active duty army, and now with a 4 year old and a mortgage payment of 1255 per month, risk of a new conflict sounds like a risk I'm not willing to take! GO OBAMA YES WE CAN!

I supported Reagan when I was registered for the Selective Service, I supported the Gulf War when two of my best friends were sent off to fight with the Marines, and I support MavErick today.
You mention Selective Service: When were you drafted?
Oh that's right. You joined of your own free will.
And you've done more to serve this country than I have. But I still think our troops deserve to come home from Iraq with a victory.

Wow Jake - you'd think that in your four years of active duty, you'd have learned the lesson that electing the "cower and appease" candidate (Obama) actually INVITES conflict. The president who stands up to aggression is more likely to dissuade would-be aggressors. And if you're worried about making that mortgage payment, just wait 'til the Obama tax increases take effect. I'm no fan of John McCain, but he's vastly preferable to the socialist-in-messiah's-clothing the Democrats are offering.

Jake, I'm ex-Navy and supported Reagan and Bush at that time. I'll support McCain this time around. But when I vote, I'm not thinking of myself, but my own four-year-old.
I am not willing to make her fight the battles that my generation should have handled. My vote is for her safety, not my own. Do you want to see your child wearing a uniform fighting another war over there? Me neither. So let's get it done now and get our men and women back home. For good.
